My advice is to talk to the locals if you can! I chatted up a bartender about the best hidden spots, and he gave me some awesome recommendations for other LGBT-friendly places nearby.
Grab a drink at the bar before 10 PM to save some cash. I found out they have great happy hour deals and you can snag tasty cocktails for half the price.
