My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The floors can be uneven, and you'll end up doing more walking than you expect while wandering through the palace's various sections.
I recommend visiting on a weekday, especially Tuesday to avoid the crowds. It was a lot more enjoyable when I could take my time exploring the stunning murals without feeling rushed by other visitors
I think it's worth checking out the free entry days, usually Sundays. Just be ready for larger crowds, but it can save you some money if you're on a budget!
