Make sure to haggle a bit when shopping at local markets. I learned the hard way by paying full price at first but after a couple of tries I got things for almost half off!
Before you jump into any adult entertainment spots, stroll along the beach first. I found some great restaurants with live music and a fantastic vibe that were way more enjoyable than some crowded clubs!
Use the local tuk-tuks to get around at night, but always negotiate the fare beforehand to avoid getting ripped off... I saved a ton of cash doing this instead of relying on fixed taxi fares
