I recommend bringing snacks and drinks but keep in mind that there's also a nice little cafe with affordable options. It saved me from carrying heavy bags on a sunny day

My advice is to get there close to opening time, around 10 AM, to avoid crowds... We arrived at 11 and had trouble finding spots for the kids to play

I think you should definitely check the event schedule when you're planning your visit. We lucked out with a fun, free storytime session that the kids loved!
