I suggest getting there right when it opens at 10am to avoid the bigger crowds. I went later and it was packed—definitely not the best way to enjoy the exhibits.
I think wearing comfy shoes is a must! You'll do quite a bit of walking and standing, so be prepared. I regretted wearing my stylish boots—big mistake!
If you can, check the museum's free admission days. I saved a chunk on my entry fee, which is always a win! Just make sure to arrive early; those days can be busy.
