My advice is to rent gear in advance, especially during peak seasons. I made the mistake of waiting until I arrived and ended up with poor quality gear. Online rentals can save you hassle and money.

I think the views at sunrise are breathtaking. If you can, try to get there by 6 AM. You'll miss the crowds and have some amazing photo ops with the early light.

I recommend saving time by bringing your own snacks. The local shops can be pricey and have limited options, so pack some trail mix or granola bars to munch on while you’re out riding.
