If you're planning to take photos, I recommend going to the top of the castle in the late afternoon when the light is just perfect... Trust me, the views are stunning!
My advice is to bring a picnic! The gardens are beautiful and you can enjoy a nice meal while soaking in the scenery. Plus, it saves money on food.
I suggest you get there right when they open at 10 am. It was way less crowded, and we had more time to explore without feeling rushed.
