Don’t forget to bring water and snacks. There aren’t a ton of options nearby and you’ll want to stay hydrated while exploring those ancient ruins.

If you’re into history, try to read up a bit on Baalbek before you go. It really adds to the experience—sometimes a good story makes all the difference when admiring the ruins.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! The site is huge and you’ll end up walking a lot on uneven surfaces. My feet were begging for mercy by the end!
