I recommend getting the audio guide. It gives so much more context about the stunning artwork and the history of the basilica. I skipped it at first, but went back for it, and it was worth it!

Make sure to check the opening hours and try to go on a weekday. It's way less crowded and you can really soak in the beauty without the rush. I went on a Saturday and it was packed!

Try to catch the evening hours. The Basilica is beautifully lit at night, and it offers a totally different vibe. I stumbled upon this and it was one of the highlights of my trip!
