If you can, go for the 9 AM lessons. The slopes were way less crowded, and I got way more time on the snow. Plus, you can get lunch after, when places aren't packed.
I think it's worth checking out the group lesson options. I went solo and ended up making friends while learning, which made the experience even better. Don't be shy!
My advice is to get your gear rental done the night before. It saved me major hassle the next morning when I just wanted to hit the slopes instead of waiting in line.
