My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The cobblestone paths can be tricky and you’ll want to be ready to walk around the grounds without worrying about your feet.

I suggest visiting the fortress on a weekday if you can. It’s way less crowded, and you’ll have more time to explore without the noise of big groups around.

Check out the local food stalls just outside the fortress. They serve tasty snacks at a fraction of the price you'd find in restaurants, and it makes for a nice break during your visit.
