Bring some cash! There are small donation boxes inside, and and it's nice to contribute a bit to maintain the stunning features of the cathedral.
If you're into architecture, grab a small guidebook at the entrance. It’s only a few kuna and gives you more background than just wandering around.
Check the opening hours beforehand; I found it closed earlier than listed one day. Going around 9 AM worked great, plus you beat the crowd and get the best light for photos.
