If you're new to petanque, definitely join a beginner's session. The staff are super friendly and love teaching newcomers. It saved me from feeling lost when I first arrived!
Bring some snacks and drinks! They have a little cafe, but the selection is limited. I packed a picnic and enjoyed it on the courts, which was a fun way to relax.
I suggest arriving around 3 PM if you want to avoid the busiest times. I made the mistake of going at noon, and it was packed. Plus, later in the day, the light is better for photos!
