I think it's worth taking a camera with a zoom lens. The animals are often a bit shy, and you'll want to get some good shots from a distance without disturbing them.
I recommend visiting during the weekday if you can - it's way less crowded and you'll have more space to enjoy the wildlife. We went on a Saturday and it felt a bit rushed.
If you are into nature walks, definetely take the trails map they offer at the entrance. Some paths lead to really scenic spots, but others are easy to miss if you don't know where to look
