Make sure to wear good walking shoes. The cobbled streets are tough on your feet. I didn’t realize how much walking I’d be doing and regretted my sandal choice!
Look out for toilet facilities before you get too deep into the ruins. I totally forgot and had to retrace my steps back to the entrance which wasted quite a bit of time!
I recommend taking your time in the frescoed villas. They’re stunning, but also busy. If you can, go on a weekday for a quieter experience - I went on a Saturday, and it was packed!
