I suggest visiting Fort St. Louis right when it opens at 9 AM. The morning light is beautiful for photos, and it's way less crowded, giving you more time to explore without feeling rushed.

My advice is to bring a picnic! There are lovely spots around the fort where you can relax and enjoy your meal after exploring which saves you a bit of cash on dining out
