I think you should bring cash instead of cards. A few places I visited had trouble with card machines, and I ended up having to search for an ATM.
I suggest checking out the happy hour deals, especially before 10pm, for better drink prices. I learnt that the hard way!
Try to avoid weekends if you can. The crowd can get overwhelming, and you might miss out on the more personal vibe during the weekdays. I had a much better time on a Tuesday!
