I think it's worth investing in a good map or GPS app. I ended up lost for a bit, and it was a bit frustrating. Having accurate directions really helps!
i recomment bringing a refillable water bottle. there are plenty of streams along the way, and it's a great way to save money and stay hydrated without buying bottled water
Pack some snacks that won't squish in your backpack. I brought a couple of protein bars, but I wish I’d packed some nuts or trail mix – they hold up better while hiking!
