I recommend hitting up the Grand Bazaar early, like around 9 AM. It's a lot less crowded, and you can really soak in the atmosphere without being elbowed by fellow tourists

Finally, don't just stick to the main lanes! I found some hidden gems in the quieter alleys... They tend to have more unique items and the sellers are less pushy

I suggest practicing a few words in Turkish before you go. Even a simple 'Merhaba' can make shopkeepers warm up to you and maybe even give you a better deal.
