My advice is to try the 'Hotham First Timer's Package' if you're new to snowboarding or skiing. It's a great deal that includes lessons and gear rental!
I recommend checking the weather and snow conditions on their website before heading out. I went when it rained, which was a bit of a disappointment!
I suggest booking your lift tickets online in advance. It saved me a good amount of time and helped dodge those long lines at the ticket counter.
