I found that booking online saved us a few bucks compared to walk-up prices. Plus, you can pick from various time slots at your convenience. Highly recommend that!

Bring a waterproof bag for your stuff. I thought the kayaks were more spacious, but with little room, my things got a bit damp. A simple daypack or dry bag would go a long way.

If you can, grab some snacks or a light lunch to bring along. There's not much nearby once you get out there, and having something to munch on during breaks was super helpful.
