I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM, to beat the crowds. It gets really busy after that, and you'll want some peaceful moments to take in all the stunning details.

i think you should take your time to wander around the outside of the cathedral too. the architecture is beautiful from all angles, and there are some great spots for photos.
