You gotta go around 9 AM if you can! That's when the morning light makes the architecture pop and you beat the crowds. I was there at noon once and it got pretty packed plus the sun was blaring!

I suggest checking out the little local shops around Panagia Platsani instead of the main touristy spots. They got some cool souvenirs, and I found amazing handmade stuff for way less than in the busy areas.
