I recommend renting a surfboard from a local shop instead of the beach rental. It saved me a ton of cash and the boards were way better quality!
If you're a beginner, I suggest taking a lesson in the morning around 8 AM when the waves are softer. I made the mistake of going in the afternoon and it was a bit too wild for me!
My advice is to pack snacks and water for your beach day. The food options are few and can be pricey. I ended up paying way too much for a sandwich that wasn’t even that good!
