My advice is to bring some snacks or pastries from a nearby boulangerie. The area is perfect for a little picnic, plus it saves you from overpriced snacks in touristy spots.

I suggest swinging by on a weekday afternoon around 3 PM. It's way quieter then, and you won't have to deal with a crowd of kids. I had a nice, chill time just enjoying the environment.
