Take your time to explore the little paths around the island. The views are stunning and there are often fewer tourists the further you go from the main areas. I found that the best pictures were off the beaten path!
Bring cash! There are no ATMs on the island, and many places, including restaurants, mostly accept only cash. I ran into trouble when I wanted to buy some local crafts.
Try to learn a few words of Quechua or Spanish before your visit. The locals appreciate it so much, and it really makes your interactions more meaningful. I noticed a big difference in how friendly people were when I attempted to speak their language
