I suggest chatting with the locals. They’re super friendly and have great stories about Tupac Amaru. They can also point you to hidden gems nearby that aren't on the tourist map.

I recommend visiting Tupac Amaru Square early in the morning around 8 AM. The light for photos is amazing and the area is less crowded then, so you can soak in the vibe better.

I think you should check out the local vendors here – their handmade crafts are unique. Just be ready to haggle a bit, as they might quote a high price at first.
