Definetly grab the combo ticket for both the thermal park and the geyser. It saves you some cash and gives you more time to explore.
Take your time along the paths; the colors and formations are incredible. I almost rushed through, but hanging back gave me time to get some great photos.
I highly recommend visiting the Champagne Pool - it's a stunner, but try to get there early, around 9 am, to beat the crowds and see it in the best light.
