When you hit the popular spots like Milngavie early in the day, it's less crowded for photos and the scenery is just stunning. I recommend starting around 8 AM.
Consider taking the bus back instead of hiking the whole way if you're short on time. The views from the bus can still be awesome and it saves your feet for next time!
Bring cash for the small villages; many shops and accommodations don't accept cards. I ran into a few places that were cash-only, and it threw me off!
