i think visiting mid-week is the way to go! we went on a saturday and it was super packed. trust me, you’ll enjoy the nature much more with fewer people around.
Don’t forget to bring a portable charger for your phone. You’ll want to take loads of pics, but connection can be spotty sometimes, and that drained my battery way quicker than I expected.
I suggest looking for local accommodations instead of big-chain hotels. We found a cozy B&B that gave us a great local experience and saved a good chunk of money too.
