If you're into flowers, don't miss the rose garden, especially in late June. I went early July and regretted not seeing it in full bloom!
Keep an eye out for the Open Air Theatre! I stumbled upon a performance and it was a lovely surprise. You may want to book tickets in advance to snag the best seats.
i think it's best to start your day at the park around 9 am. that way, you can enjoy a peaceful walk before it gets crowded. i went later and found it a bit overwhelming.
