Bondi Beach

Check the surf conditions before you head out. Sometimes it looks calm but can be choppy later in the day, especially around noon.

If you’re thinking about surfing, consider taking a lesson with one of the local schools around 9 AM. They provide boards, and you'll be hitting the waves in no time!

Don’t forget to wear plenty of sunscreen, even on cloudy days. I learned that the hard way after getting sunburned during my visit!

Bring your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. Food at the beach can be pricey, and you’ll want to enjoy lunch without breaking the bank.
Manly Beach

My tip is to skip the expensive beachside cafes; the local markets have yummy food for much less. Plus, you get to mingle with locals!

I suggest taking the scenic ferry, but book your ticket in advance. The views are worth every penny, and you also save time compared to driving.

Try to arrive before 10 AM for a quieter beach experience and snag a good spot. The later it gets, the busier it becomes!

I found that the best fish and chips are at a little place called 'The Boathouse'—grab a picnic, and enjoy it on the beach!
Dee Why Beach

Check out the local cafes for breakfast instead of the beach kiosks. I found a cute spot down the road that had better coffee and cheaper prices!

If you're renting surfboards, check out the local shops instead of the overpriced ones at the beach. I saved a bunch and still got good gear!
Freshwater Beach

Bring your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. The beach cafes can be pricey. I spent way too much on a quick lunch when I could've enjoyed my own snacks on the sand instead.
Palm Beach

For food, check out the local cafes along the main road. I got a great brunch at one of them—much cheaper than the beachside spots, and the view was still fantastic.

If you’re planning to surf, grab a surfboard from one of the local rentals near the beach instead of bringing your own. It saves hassle and parking woes. I found a rental that was super affordable and even included a beginner lesson!

Don’t forget to explore the North Palm Beach rock pool if you’re looking for a quieter swim. It was a hidden gem during my visit, and honestly, way less crowded than the main beach. Perfect for families!
Narrabeen Beach
Long Reef Beach

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks, because the local cafes can be a bit pricey, especially during peak hours. I found a nice spot on the rocks where we enjoyed our picnic without spending much.
