Bondi Beach

Check the surf conditions before you head out. Sometimes it looks calm but can be choppy later in the day, especially around noon.

If you’re thinking about surfing, consider taking a lesson with one of the local schools around 9 AM. They provide boards, and you'll be hitting the waves in no time!

Don’t forget to wear plenty of sunscreen, even on cloudy days. I learned that the hard way after getting sunburned during my visit!

Bring your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. Food at the beach can be pricey, and you’ll want to enjoy lunch without breaking the bank.
Manly Beach

If you're planning to surf, rent your gear at 'Manly Surf School' instead of the other places; they have great prices and quality equipment.

Look out for any pop-up beach events or activities; I stumbled upon a free yoga class one morning—totally unexpected and so chill.

My tip is to skip the expensive beachside cafes; the local markets have yummy food for much less. Plus, you get to mingle with locals!

I suggest taking the scenic ferry, but book your ticket in advance. The views are worth every penny, and you also save time compared to driving.
Bondi Icebergs Pool
I recommend going early in the morning, around 7 AM, to enjoy the peaceful vibes and fewer crowds. It was super relaxing.

If you're planning to swim, wear flip-flops or water shoes! The deck gets super hot during the day and I burnt my feet walking around
Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool

My advice is to bring your own snacks – the cafe is decent but can be a bit pricey. I made the mistake of grabbing something there and totally overpaid for a simple sandwich!

I suggest arriving around 9 AM to snag a good spot – it gets pretty crowded later in the day, especially on weekends. Plus, the morning sunlight is just perfect for relaxing by the pool!
Dee Why Beach

Check out the local cafes for breakfast instead of the beach kiosks. I found a cute spot down the road that had better coffee and cheaper prices!

If you're renting surfboards, check out the local shops instead of the overpriced ones at the beach. I saved a bunch and still got good gear!
Bronte Baths

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The cafes can be pricey and it’s lovely to chill with a picnic by the baths. I saved a bit and enjoyed my snacks more!
Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre

My advice is to check if they have family tickets. I didn’t realize they offered those and ended up spending more than I needed to for my family.
Wylie's Baths

Definitely arrive by 9 AM before the crowds show up, so you can grab a good spot and enjoy the peace. Plus, the morning light is lovely for taking photos!

If you’re planning to swim, bring your own towel and snacks. The cafe prices can be a bit steep, and you’ll want to save some cash
Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

I recommend getting there early, like around 9 am. The crowds can get wild, and you’ll have way more space to enjoy the pools without bumping into people

My advice is to bring your own snacks. The food there is a bit pricey, and you won’t want to shell out a fortune for a quick bite.

If you’re thinking about a swim in the Olympic pool, be aware it can get crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends. I suggest going after 2 pm for a more chill vibe.

Don't forget sunscreen! Even if you’re in and out of the water, the sun can catch up on you... I had a bad burn from forgetting it, and it ruined my next day out
