Market Square

Help yourself to some great street food vendors! I got a fantastic fries cone for a couple of euros, and it filled me up without breaking the bank.

I recommend visiting Market Square in the early morning around 8 AM. It's way less crowded, and you can enjoy the stunning architecture without elbowing through throngs of people.

Check out the Belfry Tower right next to the square, but be ready for a climb! It's totally worth it for the views, but I suggest going early to avoid long lines.

Bring some snacks or a packed lunch; prices at nearby cafes can be steep. I found a really nice spot to picnic right in the square that saved me some cash!
Belfort
Church of Our Lady
Cathedral of Saint Salvator
Don't skip the free audio guides! They really add to the experience, and you'll learn so much more about the architecture and history, which made my visit way more enriching.

If you're planning to visit, try going at 10 AM when it opens. The light coming through the stained glass is incredible, and you'll beat the crowds!

Definitely check out the roof and the art inside – I kinda missed this my first time. There’s a hidden gem of a statue that I later found out everyone was raving about.

I suggest bringing some cash for donations. They have a small fee for certain areas that really helps keep the place beautiful without breaking the bank.
Basilica of the Holy Blood

Bring a small flashlight if you can – some areas are pretty dimly lit, and it helps to really appreciate all the intricate architecture details.
Burg Square

i recommend visiting around 9 am when the crowd is lighter. you'll get better photos of the stunning architecture without too many tourists in the background. trust me it's worth waking up early!
I suggest exploring the side streets leading away from the square. Some of the best shops and hidden gems are just a few steps away, and you won't feel as rushed as in the main square.
Bonifacius Bridge
Jan van Eyck Square

I suggest visiting in the morning around 9 AM... The light is beautiful for photos, and it’s a lot less crowded before the tours roll in
Check out the small artisan shops and cafes nearby for some unique souvenirs and tasty treats. They’re often cheaper and more genuine than the main tourist spots.

Bring a good camera! The architecture is stunning, and you'll want to capture every angle. Try to find a spot where you can get a little creative with your shots, so you don't end up with the same photos as everyone else.
Chocolate Museum

If you're on a budget, consider just buying one or two small chocolates instead of a big box. The taste is rich enough that you won’t need more to satisfy your cravings!
Bruges Beer Experience

If you’re looking to save some cash, consider buying the combo ticket for the Beer Experience and a local brewery tour. It’s a good deal and lets you taste some awesome brews!
Check out their special events calendar before you go. I found some unique tastings and that definitely enriched my experience—more than just the general tour.

I suggest pacing yourself during the tasting sessions. I got a bit overexcited and lost track of time, which made the end a bit rushed. Take your time to enjoy each sample!

I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can, it’s way less crowded than weekends and you can soak up the atmosphere better... Plus, you might have more time to chat with the staff who are super friendly!
