St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral

If you're going around lunchtime, I'd suggest hitting up a local eatery nearby first. It gives you energy for exploring the cathedral and some of those places tend to have really good Bulgarian cuisine!

My advice is to visit on a weekday rather than the weekend. Way less crowded, and you can appreciate the stunning details without feeling rushed.
The National Palace of Culture
Boyana Church

I suggest checking the weather before you go. I visited on a rainy day, and the paths got slippery, making it a bit tricky to explore. A little sunshine makes the architecture pop!

My advice is to visit early in the morning, around 9 AM, to avoid the crowds. I went around 10 and wish I had done it earlier to soak in the quiet atmosphere.
St. Sofia Church

If you're on a budget, take advantage of free entry on Sundays. Just double-check if any special services are going on, as that might limit visiting times.

Don't forget to check out the small museum on-site, it's easy to miss! It's packed with interesting info and doesn’t take too long to go through

Make sure to spend a few minutes just sitting outside the church. The surrounding area has some great vibes and you can really soak in the history before heading in.

Try to visit early in the morning around 9 AM to avoid the crowds and get some nice photos without too many people in the frame. Trust me the early light is beautiful!
