Elk Island National Park

I recommend checking the weather before heading out... I went on a cloudy day and could have had better views if I planned around sunny patches instead

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some money, 'cause the park cafe prices are pretty high. I packed a picnic and it made my day way more enjoyable!
Tervillegar Park

I recommend exploring the park early in the morning, around 8 AM... It's quieter, perfect for some peaceful walks before the crowd arrives, and the sunrise is just beautiful!
Don't forget your camera! The sights are stunning, especially during sunset. I suggest planning to stick around till about 7 PM for a great photo op.

If you're looking to save some cash, bring your own snacks and drinks! The nearby cafes can be pricey and nothing beats a picnic on a sunny day!
Fort Edmonton Park

I think you should bring a refillable water bottle. There’s not a ton of places to buy drinks inside, and it gets hot walking around, especially in summer!

I recommend getting there right when it opens at 10 AM. You’ll beat the crowds and have more time to explore without feeling rushed. Plus, you can grab brunch at the café before heading out!

if you can, i suggest buying the family pass if you're with kids. it's a great deal and saves you some cash compared to single tickets. it worked well for us!
Victoria Park

My advice is to bring a picnic! There are great spots to sit and enjoy your lunch, plus it saves money instead of eating at a nearby café.

I suggest wearing comfortable shoes and being ready to walk a bit. The pathways are lovely, but you'll want to explore all the nooks and crannies of the park.
Mill Creek Ravin

Keep an eye out for the free parking spots along the road. I saved a few bucks by parking a bit further from the main entrance instead of using the paid lots.
Borden Park

I recommend bringing a picnic blanket and some snacks. There are pretty spots to relax, and it saves you money instead of buying food nearby.

If you can, visit on a weekday morning. It's way less crowded, so you can really enjoy the space and take some great photos.
check out the flower beds at different times of the day. i found they bloom beautifully in the morning light, perfect for some insta-worthy pics!
Louise McKinney Riverfront Park

I suggest bringing a picnic to enjoy by the river. The views are stunning, and it really saves you some cash instead of grabbing food nearby. We had such a great time just relaxing and enjoying our snacks right there!

If you're planning to visit on a weekend, try to get there before 10 AM... Parking can get super packed later in the day... I thought I’d easily find a spot, but ended up walking a bit!
