I think staying at nearby accommodations gives you more flexibility. I stayed in Pincher Creek and saved a ton on lodging while still being only 30 minutes away from the slopes.

I recommend buying your lift tickets online a few days before you go. It saved me around 20% and I skipped the long lines. Plus, you can avoid the chaos at the ticket booth.

I suggest checking the weather forecast before you head out. I didn't check and ended up in a snowstorm. Not the best day for snowboarding, trust me!
