Pack a picnic! I found the beach perfect for relaxing with some snacks, and there are great spots to sit. Just make sure to bring a cooler, as there isn’t a lot of food nearby.

If you're into photography, aim for sunrise. The light is magical and the beach is much quieter then! I regretted not getting up earlier for those stunning shots

Parking can be a bit of a hassle during weekends, so I suggest arriving by 9 AM. Lots fill up fast, and the street parking can be tight.

Check the tide times before heading out! I didn't realize how different the beach can look, and the water comes in pretty close at high tide, which limits space.

Bring some snacks and a blanket. My advice is to find a nice spot by the pond for a picnic. There are plenty of great places to chill and enjoy the scenery.

I suggest checking out the park's events schedule before you go. I stumbled upon a local art show that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, and it made my day!

I recommend visiting the petting zoo and the butterfly garden, they are super cute and totally worth the time! I almost missed it, but it turned out to be a highlight of the trip.

I suggest coming early around 9 AM to avoid the crowd. It's way better to enjoy the beautiful views and snap some pics before the tour buses show up!

Don't forget to check out the local shops! I found some cool handmade crafts and souvenirs that were way cheaper than the touristy shops... Plus, you’re supporting local artists!

I think you should rent a kayak if you have time! It's a fun way to explore the harbor and see the seals up close. Just be careful of the wind if you're not used to it!

you can save some cash by bringing your own snacks. the food options here are a bit pricey, and there's plenty of nice spots to picnic by the water

Bring a good camera or even your phone, the sunsets here are stunning! I didn’t capture it well last time and really regretted it. You gotta see it to believe it

user avatar
Daniel March 17, 2025

I suggest wearing layers. The wind can hit hard out there even on sunny days. I wasn’t prepared for the chill and it made my visit less enjoyable.

user avatar
Donald November 28, 2024

check out the tide times before you go! i missed the low tide, and the beach area was pretty much gone. it’s way more fun when you can actually explore the shore.

My advice is to bring some cash for the feed. The animals love it and it's a fun activity for kids! I made the mistake of only bringing my credit card and missed out.

user avatar
Daniel January 5, 2025

I suggest going on a weekday if you can. It's way less crowded, and you get to spend more time with the animals without the chaos. We went on a Tuesday and it was super chill

user avatar
Maria October 12, 2024

I recommend packing a picnic for the visit. There are lovely spots to eat, and you'll save some money rather than getting food from the snacks stand. Plus, the views are just lovely!

I sugggest going right when they open at 10 AM to beat the crowds and have more personal time with the bugs. It's way less hectic and gives you a better chance to ask questions.

I recommend checking out the totem poles carefully. Each one tells a story, and you can learn a lot just by reading the plaques. I missed a few details that I'd love to catch next time.

Andrew January 18, 2025

My advice is to bring a picnic! There are some lovely spots to sit and eat outside, plus it'll save you some cash instead of eating at nearby cafes.
