Beaches Places Map
Beaches in Cartagena:
Bocagrande Beach
Watch out for beach vendors! They can be a bit insistent. I think it's best to politely say 'no gracias' and keep walking if you're not interested. It’ll save you some time for enjoying the sand.
Bring your own snacks and drinks. I thought I could buy everything there, but some items were surprisingly overpriced. A cooler with drinks and some local treats goes a long way.
For sun loungers and umbrellas, negotiate the price beforehand. I got charged way more than I should've when I didn't ask! A good rule of thumb is to pay around 15,000 COP for a full day.
Castillo Grande Beach
I recommend hitting the beach early, like around 8 am, to snag a good spot before it gets crowded. Plus, the sunrise views are stunning!
Playa Blanca Baru
I suggest taking a water taxi from Cartagena to Playa Blanca instead of the road. It's more fun and you avoid the traffic. Plus, the views from the boat are gorgeous!
