Market Square
Senate Square

My advice is to check out the market square nearby before you head to the Senate Square. Great local eats and it's only a short walk away – way more interesting than the tourist traps!

Be prepared for the weather. I suggest bringing an umbrella or a light jacket, as it can get windy or rainy unexpectedly

I think wandering around the area before or after gives you the best vibe. There's cool street art and hidden details if you just explore the side streets around the square!
If you're into photography, the golden hour (around sunset) is magical here. The lighting on the cathedral is just perfect for some stunning shots.
Helsinki Cathedral
Temppeliaukio Church

Check the schedule before you go for any events or concerts. I stumbled upon a great live performance that was free to attend, making my visit even more special!

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, hold off until you leave the church and check the shops in the surrounding area. They often have better prices and unique finds.

Try to visit early in the morning around 9 AM to avoid the crowds. It’s way more peaceful, and you can really soak in the architecture without too many distractions.

I suggest taking the metro to get there. It’s super easy and drops you off just a short walk away. You’ll save time on parking, plus it's quite economical.
Assumption Cathedral
Take your time to admire the frescoes; they’re stunning! I regret not taking more photos inside – the lighting can be tricky, so maybe bring a small portable light source if you want to capture the details.

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM. There are fewer tourists and you can enjoy the beauty without being rushed or crowded.

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, skip the gift shop inside. They tend to be overpriced. I found great local crafts at a nearby market that were unique and cheaper!
Chapel of Silence

I recommend visiting around 9 AM when it opens. It’s much quieter then, and you can really soak in the peaceful vibes without the crowd. Plus, you’ll get some great light for photos!

I suggest checking the weather before you go. If it’s nice out, you can enjoy the nearby park after, which adds to the whole experience. I went on a rainy day and missed out on that!

My advice is to keep a look out for the special events they host. I stumbled upon a small concert when I was there, and it added a unique touch to my visit that I wasn’t expecting!
