Bring a water bottle and some snacks. I found the prices at the cafes near the monasteries to be a bit steep. It's nice to take a break and enjoy a snack with a view.

Wear comfortable shoes! The paths can be steep and uneven. I saw some people struggling in flip flops, so opt for sturdy walking shoes to make your experience much nicer.

Don't skip the monasteries' interiors. While the exteriors are jaw-dropping, the inside of the Great Meteoron, for example, has beautiful art and history that really made the visit special.
