Parthasarathi Temple
Nanganallur Anjaneyar Temple
If you can, visit during the early morning pooja around 6 AM. It's less crowded, and you can soak in the peaceful vibes of the temple.
Check out the intricate sculptures on the temple walls; they were simply amazing! I wish I had spent more time photographing those details.
I suggest wearing comfortable shoes. The temple area can get quite hot, and you'll do a fair bit of walking on stone paths.
If you're planning to eat after your visit, try the small eateries around the temple. They serve some delicious local food without breaking the bank!
Iskcon
Cathedral of Saint Thomas
Check out the little bookstore nearby. They have cool souvenirs and some interesting local reads. I found a great book about the history of Chennai!
Wear comfortable shoes because the ground can be a bit uneven around the cathedral. I wasn’t prepared and regretted not wearing my comfy sneakers!
Vadapalani Murugan Temple
Chennai Marina Lighthouse
Annai Velankanni Shrine
If you're planning to take pictures, visit in the morning around 8 AM. The lighting is beautiful then, and the crowd is thinner. I missed out on some great shots because of the midday rush.
Don’t forget to check out the little shops outside the shrine! They have some unique souvenirs at reasonable prices... I scored some lovely handmade items instead of the expensive stuff inside
Vivekananda House
Shri Ashtalakshmi Temple
Bring a small bag for offerings if you want to participate in the rituals. It adds to the experience and costs little!
I recommend taking your time to admire the intricate architecture and don’t rush through. Each section tells a unique story, and it's worth the pause.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! The temple grounds are quite extensive, and you'll want to explore every corner without sore feet.
My advice is to bring some water with you, especially if you're visiting during the hotter months – staying hydrated is key while exploring!
