Grab some local snacks from the beach vendors. I tried the fresh corn and it was delicious. Prices are reasonable and it's fun to snack while you stroll!

My advice is to bring your own snacks and water. The beach shacks can be a bit pricey, and you’ll definitely want to stay hydrated while enjoying the sun

Don't forget sunscreen! I got a bit fried because I thought a few clouds would save me, but the sun in Chennai is no joke. Reapply it, especially after dipping in the water
