I think it would be handy to brush up on some history before you go. Understanding the significance makes the visit so much richer, plus you'll impress your friends.

I recommend bringing a water bottle and some snacks. There aren’t many places to grab a bite inside the compound and it can get hot.

Karen January 17, 2025

I suggest visiting early, around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the beautiful morning light for photos. It was way less hectic at that time!

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking on uneven surfaces, and trust me, it's no fun if your feet hurt!

if you're tight on time, skip the lengthy explanations from guides and just wander around. you'll find that exploring on your own gives a more personal experience.

My advice is to bring a small piece of paper to stick between the stones with your wishes or prayers. It's a nice personal touch and adds to the experience.

I think combining your visit with a stroll around the Yemin Moshe neighborhood is a great idea. The architecture there is fantastic, and it’s just a short walk from the windmill.

My advice is to check the opening hours before you go; I didn’t and arrived just as they were closing on a Saturday, which was a bummer.

If you're planning to take photos, remember to be respectful. I found out the hard way that some places have strict no-photo rules, and you don’t want to get in trouble.

Take your time wandering around... I rushed a bit but there’s so much to absorb in the architecture and history... Spend at least a couple of hours to really soak it all in

Dress respectfully—long sleeves and pants are a must. I saw a lot of people turned away for not following the dress code, which wasted their time. It's better to be safe than sorry!
