I recommend bringing a water bottle and some snacks. There aren’t many places to grab a bite inside the compound and it can get hot.
I suggest visiting early, around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the beautiful morning light for photos. It was way less hectic at that time!

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking on uneven surfaces, and trust me, it's no fun if your feet hurt!

I recommend visiting early in the morning around 7 AM when it’s less crowded and you can truly soak in the atmosphere. Plus, the morning light is great for photos!

I think it's better to dress modestly and comfortably since you’ll be doing a bit of walking, and it shows respect to the place.

if you're tight on time, skip the lengthy explanations from guides and just wander around. you'll find that exploring on your own gives a more personal experience.

My advice is to bring a small piece of paper to stick between the stones with your wishes or prayers. It's a nice personal touch and adds to the experience.
Montefiore Windmill

I recommend bringing some snacks or water. There aren’t many cafes close by, and you might want to take a break on the nearby benches.

I think combining your visit with a stroll around the Yemin Moshe neighborhood is a great idea. The architecture there is fantastic, and it’s just a short walk from the windmill.

My advice is to check the opening hours before you go; I didn’t and arrived just as they were closing on a Saturday, which was a bummer.

I suggest visiting in the early afternoon when the light is perfect for photos. Plus, it's less crowded then, so you can really enjoy the views without feeling rushed.
Dome of the Rock

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The area has a lot of walking and some uneven surfaces. Trust me, your feet will thank you later!

I think bringing your own water is a good idea. There are few spots to buy drinks, and it can get really hot, especially in summer.

I suggest getting there at 7 AM when it opens. The morning light makes the gold dome look even more stunning and the crowd is way smaller! Perfect for photos!

If you're planning to take photos, remember to be respectful. I found out the hard way that some places have strict no-photo rules, and you don’t want to get in trouble.

Arrive early, around 7:30 AM, to avoid the crowds. I did this, and it was perfect. The early morning light on the Dome of the Rock is stunning and the atmosphere is magical.

Take your time wandering around... I rushed a bit but there’s so much to absorb in the architecture and history... Spend at least a couple of hours to really soak it all in

Dress respectfully—long sleeves and pants are a must. I saw a lot of people turned away for not following the dress code, which wasted their time. It's better to be safe than sorry!

i suggest getting there by 7 am if you can. the early morning light is stunning for photos, and it's way less crowded. trust me, you'll enjoy the peace before the crowds swarm in.
