Piazza del Plebisito

If you want to avoid crowds try visiting around 7 PM. I went then and caught the sunset which made for an amazing backdrop without too many people around.

Check out local street performers while you hang out in the square. I stumbled upon a great musicians that made the atmosphere even better without costing me a dime!

I suggest wearing comfy shoes because the cobblestones can be a bit tricky. I wore sandals and ended up regretting it halfway through my visit!
Chapel of San Severo
Cathedral of Saint Januarius

My advice is to download a good audio guide app beforehand. It helped me understand the history and significance of various artworks inside the cathedral – which is super rich and interesting!

Make sure to check the schedule for the blood miracle event. I thought I’d missed it but stumbled upon one! It’s a unique experience that adds a whole new dimension to your visit.
Church of San Gregorio Armeno
Lungomare Caracciolo

If you want to save some bucks grab a coffee and pastry from a local bakery instead of the pricier cafes along the promenade after your walk.
Royal Palace of Naples
Gesu Nuovo
Santa Chiara
Mostra d'Oltremare

Definitely wear comfy shoes! There’s a lot of walking involved, and you'll want to be able to enjoy all the sights without your feet hurting.

Check the schedule for events before you go. Some days have special exhibitions that can add a lot to your experience.

I suggest visiting on a weekday around 10 AM. It’s less crowded, so you can really take in the architecture without bumping into people all the time.
