Wear comfy shoes! There’s more walking involved than you'd expect, and some exhibits are spread out. I didn’t realize I’d be on my feet for a while.
Consider visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekend crowd can make it feel a bit rushed, and you'll get a more relaxed experience browsing at your own pace.
Definitely try the beer tasting session in the basement. It’s a fun way to sample local brews. My advice is to get there right at 11 AM when they open to avoid the crowds later on.
The Hokkaido University Museum
Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art
If you're into modern art, give yourself at least 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the exhibits. I tried to rush through and missed some awesome pieces! Take your time and enjoy the vibe
Hokkaido Museum
Check for temporary exhibits before your visit – I stumbled on a cool display that wasn’t advertised, which was a nice surprise!
Hokkaido Government Office
I recommend bringing some snacks or a light lunch. There aren't many food options nearby, and I wished I had something to munch on while exploring.
If you want some interesting angles for photos, try going to the back of the building. I accidentally found a great spot there that not many people were using!
Sapporo Science Center
I recommend bringing a packed lunch instead of eating at the café. The food was overpriced and not that great. There’s a nice picnic area outside.
Sapporo Olympic Museum
I think buying your tickets online in advance can save you a few bucks. I didn't realize there was a discount for online purchases until after I bought mine at the counter.
