Macroplaza
I think the vendors around the plaza have some sweet little trinkets. Just make sure to haggle a bit to get the best price. It’s part of the experience!
If you want to save some cash, look for free events or concerts. I stumbled upon a live band while I was there. It was a nice surprise!
If you can, visit right after 9 AM. It's much quieter then, and you can take perfect photos without the crowds in the way. I wish I had done that!
I recommend wearing comfy shoes; you’ll be doing a lot of walking. I didn’t think much of it and ended up regretting my shoe choice halfway through!
Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Monterrey
I recommend visiting the cathedral on a weekday, especially around 10 AM. It's way less crowded than weekends, and you can really soak in the beautiful architecture without rushing.
If you plan on taking photos, my advice is to walk around the outside first. The best angles are from certain spots, plus you can avoid the crowds inside while you're at it.
Bring a small water bottle! There aren't many places to grab a drink nearby and you don't want to waste time searching when you could be exploring more
Make sure to check out the small shops nearby. They sell local crafts and souvenirs at good prices; I found some really unique stuff that won't break the bank.
Cerro del Obispado
Bishopric Palace
Old Neighborhood
To save some cash, try grabbing lunch at the local markets instead of restaurants. The street food is tasty and super affordable!
