Huatulco National Park

Check the weather before you go. I didn’t, and got caught in a surprise rain shower! I suggest visiting between December and April for drier days. Bring a poncho if you’re not sure!

Plan to spend a whole day there. I underestimated the time I’d want to spend exploring. I recommend arriving around 8:00 AM, so you can explore both the park and relax at the beaches without rushing.

wear good walking shoes. some paths are more rugged than i thought. i wore sandals, which was a mistake. i recommend sturdy hiking shoes or at least comfy sneakers to enjoy the trails fully.
Magic Waterfalls
San Agustin Bay

Don't miss out on the local market in San Agustin village! I found some unique souvenirs there, and the prices were way better than at the tourist shops.

my advice is to rent a kayak instead of taking a boat tour if you're feeling adventurous. it’s more fun to paddle around the cove, and you can go at your own pace!

I suggest packing some snacks and a cooler for the beach. The local food is great, but the beach-side prices can be a bit steep. Bring your own drinks to save some cash.

If you're looking for an amazing photo op, go to the viewpoint at sunset. Trust me, the colors reflecting off the bay are breathtaking and worth the hike!
Cacaluta Bay

I recommend checking the weather before you go. The beach is stunning, but my friends and I got caught in a sudden rainstorm in the afternoon. Sunny morning, but wet afternoon!

I suggest bringing some snacks and drinks with you. There are limited options around, and prices for food can be a bit high. I brought some chips and sandwiches, which was a lifesaver!

My advice is to wear water shoes. The beach has some rocky areas, and it can be tough on your feet. I wish I had brought mine; I ended up just walking on the sand all day
Bocana Copalita Ecoarchaeological Park

I suggest visiting in the morning around 8 AM before the heat hits and the crowds show up. You’ll have better views and a more peaceful experience on the trails.
