My advice is to grab a snack from one of the food vendors around the square. They have some amazing local treats, and they're way cheaper than dining at a restaurant nearby

If you can, plan your visit during the weekdays. I went on a Saturday and it was super packed, making it hard to appreciate the architecture. Weekdays are generally more peaceful.

Look out for street performers while you're there. They can really add to the experience, but be sure to keep some small change on hand if you want to show your appreciation.

If you can, bring a light jacket! It can get breezy in the morning and chilly in the evening. I wasn’t prepared and regretted it!

I recommend checking out the art galleries on site – totally worth the time! I spent an hour there and it was surprisingly enriching and not crowded at all

I think it’s best to visit on weekdays if possible. You’ll have a more peaceful experience, and it makes a huge difference when taking photos without too many people in the background.

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. You’ll be walking a lot! The grounds are huge, and you’ll want to enjoy every corner without your feet hurting.

My advice is to just grab a drink at one of the outdoor cafes and enjoy the music. Don’t rush around too much; soak in the atmosphere instead!

If you can, avoid Fridays and Saturdays. It gets super crowded—way too many tourists. Weekdays are much more chill!

I recommend hitting up Garibaldi Square in the early evening, like around 6 PM, to catch the mariachi bands without the big tourist crowds. It really gives you that authentic vibe.

If you're into street food, save some cash and try the tacos from the stands nearby. They’re delish and way cheaper than the restaurants around.

I suggest wearing comfy shoes because there's a lot of walking inside and outside the palace. I didn’t realize how much I'd be on my feet and my tootsies were sore!

user avatar
Maria February 25, 2025

I recommend checking out the little cafes nearby before entering. They have great coffee and pastries which you can enjoy while you wait for your scheduled visit.

I think it’s better to visit on a weekday morning around 10 AM to avoid crowds. I went on a Saturday and it was packed, which kinda ruined the vibe for me.

If you're planning on taking photos, I found the best lighting around 3 PM. The sunlight hitting the architecture is gorgeous at that hour!
