definitely take a moment to just sit on a bench outside the church. the view is incredible and it’s a perfect spot for some photos. i would have missed this if i hadn’t seen others doing it!

Check if there are any local events happening during your visit. I stumbled upon a small market nearby that had some delicious snacks and unique souvenirs, making my trip even more memorable.

If you can, try to visit on a weekday. It’s way less crowded, and you can really soak in all the architecture without the rush. I went on a Saturday and it was packed!

I think it’s super helpful to pack a picnic. The area around Fort near Edam is beautiful, and it’s nice to enjoy some snacks while taking in the scenery. I saved money by not eating at a nearby cafe which can be pricey.

My advice is to check the weather before you go. I went on a cloudy day, and the fort looked a bit gloomy. If I could do it again, I’d choose a sunny day for better photos and a more vibrant experience
